Unfettered Thoughts

Won’t always be the most interesting of reads, but may be some good nuggets scattered throughout. This is more of mental practice for myself to see how I change over the years. When I take the time to journal regularly, I usually find a sharper mind and memory as the reward.

-Good Neighbor Apprentice program starts with education around personal finances and an intro into self examination. Start to help build the foundation of good habits related to self motivation, scheduling efficiency, etc. Then expand into habits and schedules around responsible home care. Part of being a good neighbor is taking care of our own house first. Then we expand further by providing these same services and more to our neighbors. This provides additional lessons around business management and accounting (bonus access to discover unmet market needs). Full circle back for advanced Good Neighbor Associates, and proved a partner program for complete remodels, often sourced from the neighbors we have been helping.

-The whole program can be tailored for a handful of variables including expendable cash vs time, experience level and desired skills to learn vs hire. Flex options for employee benefits vs contractor (what's best for tax purposes?).

-Can keep working within the GNA umbrella for liability coverage and infrastructure, or can take skills off to a self run venture. The goal is more to help create financial literacy and potentially a passive revenue stream that allows people to do what they really want in life. Regardless if it pays well. Plus those that learn at least a few handy skills will have an ever increasing advantage.

-Teach guest lecture in high school class, pay students for any unskilled labor. Use investor partners to fund house projects.

-Digital sign up sheet/ calendar for task list projects. Post all the steps in project schedule, including est start date and est time to complete, skill level/ experience needed, tools provided or needed, max # of helpers/ pay. List includes everything from property stewardship tasks, to full renovation steps (including subcontractor needs). Click to sign up for project start notification. First come first serve, with reservation for pay/ skill preferences. How does employee vs contractor role affect onboarding time, cost, structure, tax liability, etc?
