Unfettered Thoughts

Won’t always be the most interesting of reads, but may be some good nuggets scattered throughout. This is more of mental practice for myself to see how I change over the years. When I take the time to journal regularly, I usually find a sharper mind and memory as the reward.

Sunday 2/14/2021 - God and Consciousness

If there is a God, wouldn’t he have created non-believers in order to objectively study the depths of what he created? Those that study how things work might make more progress without an underlying belief bias that defaults to “because God said so.” Isn’t it more likely that God created all these paths of discovery to help those with the ability to think and analyze (also God given talent in religious principles).

Maybe our historical Gods through the ages are ancient aliens, slowly helping us evolve technologically. Too much information to be done all at once, so it is a long multi-faceted exposure campaign through human history. Either created through natural chance, or through some advanced alien seeding technology, or even just a virtual simulation.

Physical or digital doesn’t matter to the subjective self. It all feels real enough to not matter. Even if we physically exist, maybe a digital explanation of our consciousness fits the objective experience. Our bodies and brains are the computer hardware and storage, and our consciousness is the software. Both are needed to create functioning reality. Hardware upgrades and efficiencies through selective evolution. Better understanding of how it all goes together can help create bio-hacks and optimization settings. Software upgrades through adaptive evolution and the process of shared consciousness (speech, language, writing, etc).

Human bodies and the mind are a complex collaboration between an uncountable number of subconscious systems, with command and control coming from the brain. All though I have questions about gut biome. There is also an unconfirmed function or place in the brain that houses consciousness that performs the subjective reality. It has to be connected to the subconscious in order to have a full experiential reality. Doesn’t mean we can stop or alter our subconscious process, but have to have a link to get the body to do what we want or need.

Maybe the split brain issue, and the workarounds that the brain created are just other, older less optimal connections back to the sub side. Questions remain about how linked the two are, and how much “thought” is consciousness or sub consciousness. Are there really two distinct sections? Are there more? Is there a permanent connection of some sort to a collective multi human, species, etc? Where does free will reside, if it exists at all?
