The Good Neighbor Association

I have been writing around this idea for a long time. Slowly organizing and attempting various versions of different parts. It’s led to a handful of useful accounting sheets, and plenty of life lessons. Now I’m using ChatGPT to help refine and continue to organize it all into something useful for others.

Community Parks and Garden

The idea of creating a park for kids surrounded by a community garden is a great one. It not only provides a space for kids to play and explore but also encourages community involvement and healthy eating habits through the garden. The idea of having parents tend to the vegetables and offer donations for fresh food is a wonderful way to give back to the community, and pairing it with a private residence that handles bulk PM is a smart way to ensure the space is well-maintained.

By using donations to fund community use equipment and materials, the park and garden can be sustained for the long term. The addition of a maker space to fix tools and refinish salvaged materials is a great way to encourage recycling and repurposing, and a community message board for stewardship work or bigger projects is an excellent way to engage community members and foster a sense of ownership over the space.

Incorporating team sports space and organizing neighborhood leagues is a great way to bring the community together and create opportunities for physical activity. Hosting other gatherings similar to the Wilbur block party is also a great way to build community connections and promote a sense of belonging.

Overall, this idea has the potential to be a valuable addition to any community, and it is especially beneficial to have most people in walking distance to ensure maximum accessibility.
