-Put good in, get good out. Being a community steward, and a good neighbor is about as fulfilling as it gets. Start with getting your own Houstory in order, then find joy in having a diverse skill set. There isn’t enough labor in any trade, so the available work is basically infinite.
-My bread and butter is probably painting, landscaping, and lawn care. I notoriously under bill, and let my OCD take too much control, but everyone is kind to me about being slow. I just say yes to so many things (hobbies, adventure, and projects), and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
-Speaking of under billing, my usual phrase to any new work request, “Pay whatever, however, and whenever you want. I’m just as happy with baked goods and an invite to your favorite hobby, as I am with cash.” Will also gladly take slow equity gain in a property and play the long term game. Would love to help as many people as possible age gracefully in their home.
